The marine division of Western Advance has been acquired by Unique Group, adding an Australian chapter to Unique Group's presence.

Western Advance Managing Director Michael Pugh explains the sale of the marine division to Unique Group will offer expanded opportunities to marine customers and partners in the Asia Pacific region.

“Western Advance has worked in the marine sector in Australia for more than 25 years, providing world-class subsea monitoring and surveillance equipment to the industry,” Mr Pugh said.

“In recent years Western Advance has worked in partnership with Unique Group in Australia developing and expanding the marine rental division, incorporating Unique Group’s specialist products into our existing offerings, and growing the range of world-class products offered to the Australian market.

“The acquisition of Western Advance’s marine division by the Unique Group facilitates an established Australian chapter to their existing local presence in the USA, UK, South Africa, India, Europe, Middle East and Singapore,” he said.

The sale of the marine division will not affect the operations of Western Advance other divisions, as it continues to trade, strengthening its focus on electronic security, surveillance and threat detection solutions to the Asia Pacific region.
