Darwin LNG

Western Advance provided site wide CCTV, Access Control as well as the Industronic Public Address General Alarm systems incorporating large scale long range alarm horns integrated to the plants Fire and Gas detection system. Bayu-Undan’s three offshore facilities have a complete CCTV system.

Construction of the Darwin Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant in the Northern Territory began in June 2003, with the plant being officially commissioned in January 2006. Gas is sent via a 502 kilometre pipeline from the Bayu-Undan field to the plant at Wickham Point, where it is converted into Liquefied Natural Gas for sale to Tokyo Electric and Tokyo Gas in Japan.

ConocoPhillips is the majority interest holder and operator of the Bayu-Undan facility, the pipeline and the Darwin LNG plant. Other coventurers are Santos, INPEX, Eni, Tokyo Electric and Tokyo Gas.
